Rhonda Towns

Destined to be a Star-KBOK, AR

The daughter of a preacher, Rhonda was led to her career by the sounds of music that filled the church and spiritual guidance from her father and mother. She trained as a vocalist and enrolled in college. She made her debut as a country singer on Star Search and attracted the notice of producer Norro Wilson. Rhonda later connected with Harold Shedd, who produced demos for her. Her debut album, titled I Wanna Be Loved by You was released in 2006. It was produced by Jim Cotton, Shedd and Wilson.

Female Country Music Artist

Rhonda Towns’ debut project “I Wanna Be Loved By You” leads off with the tender country ballad, “Somethin’ Better,” in which she extols the virtues of growing old with the love of your life in a small town. She gets a little rowdy on “I Wanna Be Loved By You,” and downright sensual on “Those Were The Nights.” Still, she never strays too far from her gospel roots. Her stirring rendition of “The Lord’s Prayer” is solid enough for the most exacting choir director.
